Curriculum Designer
Want to create engaging primary coding lessons? Join Cluey as a part-time Curriculum Designer and shape Aussie Digital Technologies learning.
Cluey is seeking an experienced curriculum designer with a strong understanding of primary education and foundational coding concepts. In this part time max term contract role, you will design engaging, age‑appropriate learning materials aligned with the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies (Foundation – year 6). Your work will help facilitators confidently deliver coding and STEM lessons that build problem‑solving, creativity, and computational thinking skills in young learners.
About the Role
As part of the Schools and Partnerships team, you’ll work to:
Develop and update high‑quality coding curriculum content for primary school students, including lesson plans, activities, assessments, and teacher guidance.
Align all content with the Australian Curriculum (Digital Technologies), internal pedagogical frameworks and Cluey’s internal learning platform.
Create clear, engaging explanations of coding concepts suitable for early learners (e.g. sequencing, branching, loops, algorithms).
Design hands‑on, inquiry‑based learning experiences using tools such as Scratch, Minecraft Education, and our own Code Camp World.
Produce differentiated learning options to support diverse student experience, needs and abilities.
Write teacher notes with learning objectives, success criteria, and classroom management tips.
Collaborate with team leads to refine and iterate on content.
Ensure all materials are accurate, inclusive, and accessible.
Meet project deadlines and deliver content in agreed formats and templates.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing EdTech company focused on personalised, fun, and confidence-building learning experiences.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for someone who can adapt quickly and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. Your strengths will include:
Experience writing curriculum, lesson plans, or educational resources for primary school students.
Practical knowledge of coding education platforms, especially with block-based (e.g. Scratch) or JavaScript-based environments (experience with Cluey’s Code Camp World is not required but similar platforms are ideal), as well as educational computer games (e.g. Minecraft Education).
Ability to break down technical concepts into simple, engaging explanations for young learners.
Background in teaching, learning design, educational publishing, or EdTech.
Excellent written communication skills with attention to clarity, structure, and pedagogy.
Ability to design differentiated activities and assessment strategies.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently to deadlines.
Nice to Have
If you’ve got experience in any of the following, you’ll stand out, but don’t worry if you don’t:

Experience with inquiry‑based learning, STEM/STEAM programs, or project‑based learning.
