The role
We're looking for an experienced Curriculum Designer to join on a part time / 4 days per week contract basis who understands primary education, foundational coding, and where AI creativity tools are heading someone who can turn big ideas into lesson kids (and facilitators) actually love.
You'll design engaging, age-appropriate learning content across two curriculum streams:
· Our established coding & game-development curriculum
· Our brand-new Create with AI curriculum
Everything you build maps to the Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies (Foundation–Year 6) and helps facilitators confidently teach coding, STEM, and AI-creation lessons that build real computational thinking and AI literacy.
What you'll do
· Build the content - lesson plans, activities, assessments, and teacher guidance for primary and early secondary students
· Make it click - clear, engaging explanations of concepts like sequencing, branching, loops, and algorithms for young learners
· Design hands- on learning experiences using educational coding platforms and creative software, such as Code Camp World (our priority platform, which teaches kids to code through creative, game-based projects), Minecraft Education, and generative-AI tools.
· Differentiate - content options that flex for different abilities and experience levels
· Equip facilitators -teacher notes with learning objectives, success criteria, and classroom tips
· Stay aligned - keep everything mapped to the Australian Curriculum and our internal frameworks
· Collaborate with team leads to refine and iterate
· Deliver on time, in the agreed formats and templates
What you'll bring
· Experience writing curriculum, lesson plans, or educational resources for primary (ideally also early secondary) students
· Hands-on knowledge of coding education platforms, block-based (e.g. Scratch) or JavaScript-based, plus educational games like Minecraft Education, and/or fluency with generative-AI creative tools (image, audio, video)
· A knack for turning technical concepts into simple, engaging explanations for kids
· A background in teaching, learning design, educational publishing, or EdTech
· Strong writing skills, make it clear, structured, pedagogically sound
· Confidence designing differentiated activities and assessment strategies
· Self-motivation and strong organisational skills to hit deadlines independently
· A track record of hands-on, project-based learning that ends in something kids can actually show off
Nice to have
· Solid grasp of the Australian Curriculum, especially Digital Technologies (F-6)
· Experience with inquiry-based learning, STEM/STEAM, or project-based learning
· Familiarity with generative-AI tools, prompt craft, and art direction
· Genuine enthusiasm for game development and emerging ed-tech
· Awareness of online safety and data considerations for under-13s
